In 1918 Vincent Tomlinson (Laura’s great grandad) returned from World War I and took up the tenancy of Babthorpe Lodge.
For 43 years Vincent farmed the land with his wife Annie until, never having fully recovered from the horrors of the First World War, he died in 1962
Annie and her two sons Geoff and Alan (Laura’s grandad) ran the farm until 1984 when Annie died and sadly the farm was returned to the landlord.
The Story continued however three years later when Mark and Ann (Laura’s mum and dad) took up their own tenancy of a farm at Babthorpe.
Now in 2013, 95 years since Vincent first cropped his fields Laura brings four generations of farming expertise to the table and through Mr Vincent’s and Spuds and Berries the story continues…
